Eye of Insomnia: A Poem
Eye of Insomnia: A Poem
Insomnia is an eye open wide in the night
It can see in the dark of the room without light
For it sees from the mind, sees the past not the present
Sees the future potential, a future unpleasant
…
The eye makes an image of shadows come near
A shape like a man, though a man I don’t fear
I fear what could be, what has been, and what isn’t
The thing of my fears is elusive but imminent
