On the Last Days of Summer: A Poem
On the Last Days of Summer: A Poem
Wake up walking, watching football
Chelsea Blues and chocolate cereal
Blazing sun burning brightly
Baby bathing in wading water
.
Dog dashing down the yard
Children showering caterpillars
Bees buzzing by the geraniums
Green spring trees surrounding
Shady breeze soothing
.
Mexican mariachi music musing
Lovely lady lounging luminously
Charcoal smoke sweet smelling scent
Barbecue burning, browning buns
Burgers beer brownies and brandy
Bubbles bouncing buoyantly by
.
The last days of summer
Are here and then gone
Soon leaves will fall
And we will long again for summer
Chelsea Blues and chocolate cereal
Blazing sun burning brightly
Baby bathing in wading water
.
Dog dashing down the yard
Children showering caterpillars
Bees buzzing by the geraniums
Green spring trees surrounding
Shady breeze soothing
.
Mexican mariachi music musing
Lovely lady lounging luminously
Charcoal smoke sweet smelling scent
Barbecue burning, browning buns
Burgers beer brownies and brandy
Bubbles bouncing buoyantly by
.
The last days of summer
Are here and then gone
Soon leaves will fall
And we will long again for summer
